My Teaching Philosphy
In light of my tutoring experience, I have learned that it is imperative for tutors to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each individual student. Effective tutors are able to discover their students’ learning styles, ability levels, and interests. It is essential for tutors to utilize ongoing assessment and ask open-ended questions that enable students to explain mathematical procedures and concepts. That enables tutors to assess accurately how well their students are learning the material. Also, it is beneficial to build positive rapport with pupils by learning their interests. Furthermore, effective educators are able to reach out to visual, auditory and tactile learners. Each student has a different learning style and tutors need to teach the material in a variety of ways to meet the needs of every student.
